Trip to the South Land.

Leaving Ankara in the beginnings of a snow storm, we arrived in South Carolina to enjoy temps in the 70's! Here's me enjoying the sunrise in South Kakalaki!

There was this crazy dog bed that my parents set up. If the company asked me for some feedback, I'd let them know the dangling toys should go. Hmph.

It wasn't just me that was placed on the floor of the airplane, but my bro's bed was also there. We chilled out together!

Now, I'm back in Ankara and my buddy Nina came to visit.

We will be feasting on turkey for our holiday meal. Since my bro can't eat solids, there will be more for me! The rents were grumbling about me being on a diet since we are flying back to the states in early January for the debut of my bro to the Grandparents. The new baby bro is a bit wild when he sleeps so this is about as close as I dare get. All in all he's not bad to sleep next to but he does get noisy when he wakes.

Meet my neighbor and new friend, Tantik (I'm not sure how you spell his name). Tantik is a five year old chow that is probably the most pampered dog I've ever met. He has staff that walks him, feeds him via a spoon, grooms him, and keeps his house clean. His dad also owns a fish restaurant so I'm sure he gets some great eats! Livin the life Tantik!!

Wow! Time has really flown by this last month. As you know, I moved to Ankara Turkey and I'm expecting a human baby brother at the end of September. Since July I've been back to the states and did some traveling to Alaska and Chi town.

I'm hanging on my perch, as usual, in Alaska. Unfortunately, it was a bit chilly this summer with fresh snow on the mountains when we were there.

And I'm a little bit settled in Ankara Turkey now. Some things are a lot better than my life in Geneva. One is that I have 4 balconies to choose from as well as a much larger interior space. Here I am lounging on one of my balconies!

Unfortunately, we still don't have our stuff from Geneva so it's a bit bare. Thankfully, my mom packed the essentials which included several of my dog beds. Since this photo was taken, we have a love seat and a rocker chair compliments of the new IKEA opening in Ankara. We are thanking the IKEA Gods every day for opening!!

In the mean time, I'm headed to Chicago on Wednesday followed by Alaska so I'll be seeing some friends there. Happy Fourth everyone!

The rents found us an apartment in Ankara. Apparently, I can have my own room and bath since it's so big! Lots of balconies too so that's a plus.

I've been making sure all my goodies get packed as well as my favorite toys and beds. Lots to do before the move in mid-June.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. A lot has been going on in my household these days. I did go to Lyon last weekend. As you can see, I was exhausted after our night in Lyon so took full advantage of the swaying train home.

I'm currently spending the next week with my buddy Louis at his house. My parents are in Ankara Turkey which is going to be my new home come mid-June. I'll keep ya posted on what that means for me exactly.

Once the belly is semi-full, I can retire to sun bathing on the terrace.

Christmas Travels Part 4 - South Kakalakee and beyond

On the way to South Kakalakee, we stopped in St. Augustine.

And visited the oldest house in America.

As well as Savannah and their lovely squares.

Then we crossed into South Kakalakee where we enjoyed a lovely rest area.

And I cruised around with my dad in the woods.

In true southern spirit, Oliver is even sporting a Christmas sweater.

Saw some interesting signs.

They have grocery stores called Piggly Wiggly in the South!

And of course they sell hunks of cured pork fat. I could smell that in the collards but never got to taste it! Such a shame. Maybe next time the rents will throw some down to me.

For the finale of the trip, the neighbors had raccoons for pets! These things were about double my size and I wanted nothing to do with them. Thank you very much, but NO way did I want them free roaming anywhere near me. They really wanted to check me out and actually reached out and touched my front leg!

The neighbor also had a dog named Blaze that was thankfully nice to me. He has been known to chase people off the property so I was happy not to become lunch. I was glad he was friendly. I wasn't so sure when I first saw the Rebel flag.

Christmas Travels Part 3 - Neptune Beach/Jacksonville

Dogs are allowed on the beach before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. What a pleasure it was to run free!

Meet Daisy! She was a gracious host in Jacksonville. What a life she lives!

She lives right on the beach, has lots of lookout areas, gets to go boating, and has an amazing family. Thanks for sharing it all Daisy!

I forgot to mention Daisy's giant bean bag as luxuries available to her!

I met this sweet pug in Jacksonville.

When it was time for us to leave, Daisy came to see us off. Thanks again Daisy for all your hospitality.

Christmas Travels Part 2- Key West

I had to walk by this pug puppy for sale everyday. It was so hard not to buy her.

I believe this dog is really contributing to his owners daily income. He walks up and down through the outdoor cafes and lots of people donate dollars just to see him pick it up and place it in his bucket.

My travels started with a pleasant surprise, a service animal relief area! I had no idea!!! You may be wondering exactly what this is. Turns out, after there was a lawsuit regarding the discrimination of service animals at airports, it is required to have an area for service animals to potty within the security areas of all US airports! This is going to revolutionize my plane travel. There are two in the Washington Dulles airport and I took full advantage when I landed from my long 8.5 hour flight.

Nice signage to help you find it.

A nice touch.

The floor rinses the astro turf after you press the red button so things are pretty clean.

South Beach was Fabulous!

Great pathways.

Not busy at all!

I got lots of attention on the trip too!

News and Cafe was always welcoming to me.

Great architecture.

Of course South Beach lived up to its reputation as a hipster hangout in every way. My room had great design.

How could I not post a Tatoo shop and one tough little min pin.

Dog Bar Miami was a great little pet boutique that carried a nice selection of dog food and treats. They had my freeze dried Stella and Chewy food so I was happy.

Unfortunately I didn't see that many pugs in South Beach.

Ha! I did see a shiba though! I'm sure my friend Toko and Shiba 1 and 2 would have liked it.

What a surprise it was to find my McCarthy Alaska friends at my doorstep on Thursday!! Sunny and Bob came to Switzerland to watch over me while my parents ran off to London. I was so delighted to see them and lavished lots of kisses on them.

My parents met lots of pugs while in London! Unfortunately, they forgot the names of all the pugs. This guy was in Islington.

We were very fortunate our train departed Geneva for Paris on Wednesday due to the general strike. I enjoyed my view and seat all to myself!

We had a little difficulty getting home on the train. They announced they were looking for a train driver which took 40 minutes to accomplish. Oh those French.

I was also shocked that after five years of train travel in Europe, I had two people on one train who did not want to sit next to me!! Yes, you read it correctly! Humph. We stuck to our guns and eventually enjoyed a seat to myself. First class wasn't too shabby either. :) Peace Out!

Since returning to Geneva I've been hanging at a new to me tea shop which is super dog friendly. The owner has two black pugs and the waitress has an English bulldog, Brownie.

I'm surveying the land for any intruders. There's a lot of area I need to protect while I'm in South Dakota.

It's that time of year again where I have to make the weight for my flight home. Eight kilos with my bag. It doesn't seem like a hard thing until you think about my muscular figure! Heeheheh.

Good news though! I'm only 6.8 kilos so no more dieting for me. Yippee! The flights are booked and if seat guru is correct, I will have the best seat in economy for my trip back to the states. I'm looking forward to seeing my dog posse, Bo and Pico, in Chi town!

This sweater fit but I couldn't get my head around this Japanese fashion phenomenon. Somehow it gives me the professorial look.

Last week the rents left me while they cruised around Istanbul. Pfft. At least I got to hang with my buddy Louis! Apparently, they didn't see one pug while there but they did see this dog food, Crunchy, with a pugs mug on it!

Last week I enjoyed spring in Paris! I took in some of the sights.

Road the Metro.

More sights.

Can you believe this off leash area?! How grand is that?

Got some lovin' from my dad.

Watched the Paris scene.

This guy has my name! I have no idea who he is though.

Guess he's famous as the square was named after him.

Love seeing all the cafe and shop dogs.

Went to a stylish and very dog friendly store called Merci!

This is in the coffee area of Merci. They let me sit on the couch, gave me some nice treats , AND my own water!

This guy was very cool and we really hit it off.

Finally, we headed home and I got some much needed rest on the train home. The rents splurged so I got to ride first class this time. Woo Hoo!

The weekend started out with a visit to my buddies Mighty and Maggie's house. I'm glad Mighty doesn't mistake me for one of his toys!

Finally, I got to meet Norton the pug from Sweden. He's 7 months old and it looks like he's going to be a large one!

Last week was stunningly beautiful and I was lucky enough to spend it at the dog park.

Last week we truly experienced the first of spring in Geneva! I was fortunate enough to spend it at the dog park.

My buddy Louis was there enjoying himself!

Occasionally, I had to take a break and just sun bathe.

After the dog park, I was able to nap in the sun at home on one of my many pillows.

We had some freezing temps and strong winds last week that created some dangerous conditions in Geneva.

Thankfully I didn't have to spend too much time outside.

It really was no place for a pug.

There was lots of destruction in the marina with lots of damaged boats.

The Rents ran into a lot of pugs in NYC. This little guy is named Batman and lives in Midtown East.

This pug stood out with a traditional Swiss collar. Unfortunately, they didn't get a shot of the actual collar. I hope everyone is enjoying their day. I'm going to work on some serious sleeping today.

Well the rents made it back OK. I guess the weather was blizzard like in NYC so I'm most happy to have stayed in Geneva with my buddy Louis!

I also have to say being left behind has its perks! I got lots of new treats to try as well as a new down coat. Yes, you heard it right. Down feathered coat. You know how much I adore down! I guess it's made in NYC and it actually fits me!

Sorry for the delayed posts. My computer crashed and I'm using my dad's work computer so it has a lot of restrictions. Anyway, hopefully I will be getting a new macbook pro to blog on in early February when my mom goes to NYC.

I think pugs have a gene that allows us to find the most comfortable spot in the house. This picture is me on the sofa with two pillows stacked on top! Ah, it was a heavenly nap!

We had a lot of snow fall for Geneva. So much that the airport was closed for 6 hours! By Alaska standards it wasn't much though, 10 cm.

I'm sporting a new vest, thanks to my friend Aphaluck! She was thinking about me while she was home in Thailand and managed to pick out a winner in this vest. It actually fits me which is a rare thing to find!
