ROMA!!!

The Colosseum was quite impressive but I'm glad they banned animal fighting in AD523. I could smell all that slaughter in the air and it was quite terrifying!

Ottorino's Cantina/Cave in Sorrano.

We met up with Ottorino and he invited us to taste his wine. It has been aging two years in barrels down in his Cantina which is always kept at a constant temp of 12 degrees Celcius due to its depth in the earth. It felt a lot colder than that though!

Traipsing Around Sorano!

Sorano, Tuscany

In the background is the Tuscan town of Sorano where my friend Ivano has one of the original homes built into the side of the hill. This placed rocked the house. There are no cars allowed in the old city, so I could just run around off leash.

I met a minah bird that would call the preists name non-stop who happened to live up the alleyway. It seemed the only other word he knew was mamma.

Tuscany!

Upon arrival in Orvieto, I was greated with Biscotti by my friend Ivano! Yummy!!!

Train to Tuscany

OK, the train to Orvieto in Tuscany wasn't as nice as the Eurostar but it was still a great ride!

Espresso and Art - Milan

Leader of the Pack!

Travelling to Milan!

My train to Milan was on the super speedy Eurostar where I managed to score a seat by the window for myself!

Italian Holiday!!!

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. We've been looking for a new flat and that has pretty much consumed my time lately. I have to present my adorable mug to help weed out the competition in these fierce times of <1% rental vacancy rates!

On a brighter note, I'm off to Italy today for a week! This is my first trip to Italy. I hope I get the same reception I got in Barcelona when I ran into a group of Italian woman who basically mauled me! They were so sweet! I'm especially excited about marking all over St. Peters Square. Somebody's gotta do it!

Donna has assured me that I will get some time for la dolce vita in Tuscany. I'll post on my return!

Cheers!

Doggy "DIRT"!!

Apparently, this ad is designed to appeal to the dogowner's sense of ownership of public space, saying you wouldn't allow your dog to do his "business" in your home without cleaning it up, so don't allow it on the street. Judging by the amount of dog waste still on the sidewalks, I would have to say it's not working.

Exhausted!

My holiday at Snoopy's was great but now I need some serious snoozing action!

Well, I won't be writing until I return from my vacation at my buddy Snoopy's house on Wednesday evening.

Ciao!

Skiing

Well, my mommy wanted to take me up x-country skiing last weekend. Thank God she didn't! Look at how miserable it was up there. Now, you know how pugs are fair weathered dogs. . . I personally do not like my paws to get wet, let alone cold! She went up again on Sunday and said there were lots of dogs up there but I'm still not convinced. Maybe if she could put me in a heated carriage and pull me around giving me some warm treats every five minutes! Now that is my kind of winter mountain fun!

Favorite Fan!

My favorite fan was in town! Whew! She wore me out. This is little Esme and she is just over a year old. Did I mention she loves dogs?!?! She loves me so much she will follow me anywhere - under tables, chairs, beds, etc. There's nothing that can stop her when she wants to say "hello!".

Pugs in the Park!

Geneva doesn't have many pugs around so when I heard there were two pugs that lived in the Bois de la Batie park I headed up there. It turns out there is a cafe in the park and the owners have a pug/pekinese mix and a fawn pug named Valentin. These two guys are allowed to roam the park at their leisure during the day. Snoopy's dad thought Valentin was abandoned since he found him alone at the hut where people leave old bread for the birds. The reality was, Valentin had figured out if he hung out here he would pick up an extra meal or three!!! The pic on the left is Valentin's much older brother (sorry I didn't catch his name).

Lyonnaise food

Lyon is known for its pork and they didn't disappoint us!

Lyon, France

Last weekend we went to Lyon, France. I met this great old (9 years) Frenchie who I ran circles around because he got me so excited!

Spring/Printemps?!!??!

Sorry I haven't posted lately. The weather has been absolutely - She-ite! This is my first winter/spring in Geneva and it has been loooong. I might even have to say it is worse than Chicago. At least in Chi you get some wide temperature fluctuations with lots of sunny days. Geneva tends to be overcast and cold most of the time similar to Seattle but a lot colder.

Choco late

What a country! Only in Switzerland would one receive free gourmet chocolate in the mail! Too bad it's poisonuos to canines. If only they would send pig ears or beef bones in the mail. Ok, I'll settle for some dog biscuits. Yumm!!!!!

Peep. Peep.

My girl, Sky, at the Furry Beastro sent me a lovely little plush chick. When I'm not busy sleeping, I like to play with it!

My Aunt Holly, aka "the smuggler", is leaving today. I hope she visits again with more treats!!!!

Maison Markel and Trobough

After pounding the pavement in Paris, I headed back to the lovely flat of Johanna and Kris where I enjoyed some serious napping.

Luxembourg Gardens

Another favorite jaunt was to Luxembourg Gardens. Even though I was forbidden in this area of the park, my friend Johanna was able to capture my essence in this shot.

Dauphine triangle park

My park away from home became the traingle area Dauphine which is located on the Ile de la Cite. Everyday I crossed the Seine via the Pont Neuf to check and send my p-mails.

Parisien Life

Well I'm sorry I haven't posted lately but I've been enjoying the city life in Paris! The women just adore me there! Besides saying hello with "coucou" I was told I was "magnifique" numerous times. Oo la la, my head feels very big after this trip!

Off Leash Areas

Why don't we have more offleash areas for dogs and their owners? If we dogs have become "full" members in the homo sapien family, why are we treated like second class citizens when it comes to areas with green grass? I'm in Switzerland now and you wouldn't believe the number of signs posted on grassy areas forbidding the chien (dog). Since I'm not really a full member of Swiss society, I don't think I can change things here, but for you pupsters in the US of A check out this link for information on how to start new offleash areas in your hood. http://www.dogplay.com/Activities/dogparkl.html#start
