Italian Holiday!
My holiday started out with a night train to Florence. For all the pugs who haven't taken a night train I highly recommend it! There's no airline bag to contend with and I had a choice of bunks. I tried out the top bunk but decided it was better to be on the bottom so I could keep a watchful eye on the door.
I was even able to watch the landscape pass! It was such a nice change to those horrible transatlantic flights.
My bunk of choice.
After getting settled into Florence we headed back to the train station to pick up my human friends from Chicago. These were the friends I stayed with last summer. While waiting, we met this cute little pug whose name I have forgotten but he was really nice.
There were just so many pugs in Italy. Here's a pug who was the same age as me, seven years! As you can see, I'm much less gray than this fellow but he managed to keep his trim figure!
We spent some time in a town called Padova just outside of Venice. Here is the Prato Della Valle (aka dog park to me) just down the street from our hotel.
Every day I would meet up with the usual suspects. The pug below is Uboldo from Milan.
Here you can see Ubaldo is very fashion conscious which makes sense since he lives in Milan! I hope to see them when we go to Milan for Easter holiday.
This Italian pug mamma spoke no English but was in love with me! Who could blame her. She was owned by the two fawn pugs below. They were also quite the fashionistas!

Italy lived up to its reputation for excellent and abundant food! Here I am waiting patiently at a Deli in Padova.
This was Christmas day in Florence. Not too many cafes were open and we stumbled into this bizarre place. The older ladies were a bit out there (think makeup applied like clowns). Anyway, one of them came over with a big old meringue for me which my mom was not too excited about but let me have a little taste as the woman insisted it was good for me!
Italy is so dog friendly that I even went out for happy hour to the bar with my parents. Here I am enjoying my bar seating.
Did I mention all the great bakeries? These are even better than the swiss or french as they like to put ham and cheese on everything!
I was a bit miffed by this vending machine. It was New Years day and I was out to find some good food. I thought for sure this vending machine would have some scrumptious junk food and insisted my mom lift me so I could select something de-lish. Who would have thought there would only be boxes of condoms, lube, and pregnancy kits. Argh! Later we happened on another machine that only sold cigarettes.
This was our hotel room in Padova. I stayed in for the New Years festivities since I don't care for the noise of fireworks. I didn't mind as I enjoyed a nice pig ear!
This is what my parents saw. I don't know what the big deal is about those burning lights.
We took a afternoon train back to Geneva from Padova but went first class. When we got to our seats I had a nice friend across the isle from me. Of course I can't remember her name but she was very well behaved and may have made me look bad when I barked a few times.
Here I am in my seat in first class. It was nice and spacious and once again I could view the countryside as we traveled back home.

Thanksgiving
Well there was LOTS of turkey to be had! I managed to make some strategic friends with the turkey carver woman and the left over man.
On a sad note. . . We just read from the pug fram blog ( http://thepugfarm.blogspot.com/ )that little Maggie passed away Thursday. It is so very sad and we are thinking about her family in this terrible time. It's their second little pug girl they've lost in such a short period.

New duds!
Yep, the rents went to NYC and all they brought back was this new rain coat for me. OK, it's nice BUT I really wanted to cruise central park! I've heard about these pug gatherings that are rumored to be near 100 pugs!
Once again I'm not going with the rents this weekend! Something about not allowing dogs in the cabin on flights to the UK. Whatever! I'm off to casa Chico Ferina for the weekend. I'm looking forward to testing out Chico's new dog bed.
Peace out. I'll try to post on Sunday.

Swiss Pig Ears!
I've become a connoisseur of pig ears and I have to tell ya, the Swiss pig ears from Migros alimentation are the best! I think it has to do with the way they roast them and maybe the fact they aren't on as many steroids as the ones in the USA. Anyhoo, they are darn D-lish!

Another Great Weekend in Lyon
One of my favorite things to do is run around the river park in Lyon! This time I was surprised with a nice planting of clover that was just perfect to "low ride" in!
I also did some adventure trekking. Here you can see me getting dangerously close to the water!
The owner of this boxer wouldn't allow him to say hello. It was just so sad. Ah well, I had a good time anyway.
We also visited a medieval village just outside of Lyon on the way back to Geneva. Man, it was freezing inside the walls of the village and let me tell ya, those streets are hard to walk on with the cobble stones.

Chico's visit!
My good friend, Chico, is over for the day and possibly a night. I'm showing him the fine art of napping during the day. I told him he could sleep in any of the many beds I have around the house. As you can see, he finally settled down with me(the small black spot between the orange and brown pillow) on the couch.
This is my second favorite bed in the day time. I guess he thinks so too.
I rarely sleep on the floor. It's just too common dog in my opinion.

Of course at night this is my all time favorite! The human bed!

Back from my Holiday!
My peeps are back from London town and all they brought me were these pictures of dogs they saw while in London. Argh!!!! AND, one was even a puppy! How dare them! Anyway, I had a blast at Snoopy's house and I'm still recovering with LONG naps!!
Apparently, the great danes name is Louis.
This is Luna a 14 week old curly coated retriever. She's the new pup of my parents friends sister. They were saying something about meeting this one. Humph.
This is just some random Afghan they saw while in the park in London. Geez.

Sunday Brunch
My mom needs to get her stuff together! We went for a croissant and coffee on Sunday and saw this dog so perfectly comfortable with a nice pillow. I, on the other hand, was sitting on a hard wood bench! Geez! And I thought pugs were supposed to be pampered. Well, she has assured me this won't happen again!
