Suisse and their Muzzles!!!

Well, the Suisse are true to their stereotype! They are implementing an obligatory muzzle required law for all dogs in basically all the parks in Geneva (where I live!). What's a pug to do? No more grass for me?! This is absurd! I'm preparing my protest signs now! Do they even make a muzzle for a pug?!

That is absolutely rediculous! I'm really shocked they would do that. And come on, how do you muzzle a pug? It's crazy.

Anyway, obviously we made it back from Chicago on Lufthansa despite Olive being 10kilos. Thank god my suitcases were on the scale so they couldn't actually weigh her, I just said she weighs 10lbs, and they were like ok, go to gate A22. Phew! I get so stressed out before we fly! We got lucky and there were empty seats too, so she got to come up on the seat next to me with her cute little head sticking out, and I could sneak her some snacks, so she was happy. Whats the weight limit on KLM? Isn't that what you guys fly? I always thought Lufthansa was the only one that allowed pets in the cabin on overseas flights...

Today is the first day of the new law. Of course, we went out without a muzzle!

Well, I too get nervous on our flights to and from the States. We have flown with the followign airlines internationally: Air France(very nice),KLM (great but they have a 4.5 kilo max but did not weigh me; Swiss Air (9 kilo max including weight of the bag and they do weigh everything!), and SAS (also friendly.

We are moving to Italy from the US. We are being told the same, that our Pug MUST use a muzzle. Have you found an acceptable muzzle for the Pug yet? The only ones I can find are for cats and they would cover his eyes, not acceptable to me.

Thanks.

I wouldn't bother with a muzzle in Italy. We have visited Milan, parts of tuscany, and Rome without a muzzle and met many pugs all without muzzles. The law was also repealed in Geneva, so no muzzles. Also, the Geneva authorities never bothered the owners of small dogs during the muzzle law. My vet said to not bother. They have enough problems breathing and their faces are not set up for muzzles.
