Easter in Southern France!

I love the open road! Our first day we spent at Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet which is owned by Hervé Souhaut and in the appelation Saint Joseph.

Here we are getting a tour of the house (castle) of Herve's wifes family.

Sorry about the order of these pictures. Herve is giving us a tasting straight from the barrels. Sadly, all his wine is sold so we couldn't buy any. However, Herve was super generous and gave us a magnum of his fine wine!

I'm surveying the area from the roof and taking in the fine smells of the land.

My friend Oliver cruised around with me. Here I am showing him the way to the inside of the "house".

It was nice to climb some rock after being in the car for so long.

What a surprise this little cafe was in Joucas. We stopped for coffee and croissants only to discover a hot air balloon rising from the fog! It was incredible!

Can you see the hot air balloon?
The next day we headed for another vineyard, Domaine Gramenon. This is owned by Michelle Aubery-Laurent and is located in the Southern Rhône region. She likes to produce her wine in the natural way with very little sulphur.

We headed deep into the cave for our tasting.

In the end, we all bought some bottles!

This is our little Bed and Breakfast.

Here I am with my dad on our little terrace. There was a nice field of lavender just below.

Finally, we returned to Geneva and headed to our favorite spot along the lake, The Terrasse. It was packed!

Joyeuses pâques / Happy Easter!

I just adore my little friend Alva! When I see her I just know it means lots of croissant crumbs! Mmmm. Mm.

Recently, there have been several sightings of black pugs in Geneva. For those not familiar with Geneva, it's rare to see a pug let alone a black one. Turns out Winston (pictured above) is from NYC and is on an extended holiday in Europe. Welcome to Europe Winston!

Given my limited French, I'm not sure the name of this guy. All I understood was he's 12 years old.

I'll be away for the easter holiday in Southern France! The humans have been talking about wine tastings and gourmet meals. I'm of course excited about the gourmet part of the trip! My buddy Chico will be joining me as well as my little human friend Oliver. I'll post after my return on Monday. Bonne pâques as they say in French.

Spring in Geneva

Spring really is here in Geneva! Yesterday marked the opening of the summer favorite drinking spot, The Terrace. It's located on right side of lake Geneva conveniently along my daily walk. Last night the humans grabbed some blankets and food and we enjoyed a nice evening people and dog watching.

Another great event in my life is my little buddy, Oliver, has come to live in Geneva! He loves me so! Here you can see I'm busy showing him how to sniff like a dog and he really digs it! Did I also mention he likes to feed me? Oh yes, we have a great symbiotic relationship!

Pugs and Wine Tasting

Last weekend we ventured to Beaune. There was talk about food which always makes a pug happy as well as something about vineyards. Apparently, the humans were invited to a wine tasting by Pierre TAUPENOT.

As it turns out, wine tasting really means abandoning me in the car while the humans enjoyed themselves.

They paid homage to the wine god(as pictured above).

Pierre Taupenot showed them his personal cave which included this bottle from 1939.

Finally, I got to enjoy the sights and smells of the actual vineyards. I really think my pug urine would add a special "something" to the vintage for this year. Unfortunately, my humans didn't agree.
